Fill Color

Post by jfiofficial » Mon Nov 19, 2018 9:07 am

I suggest that we can use this in our drawing if necessary for creating an object or floor plan in our FbCadCam Application.

I have thought about doing this for a while but then every time I think about it I say to myself well you know this isn't a paint program.

But after seeing the kids being artistic with FB CAD cam perhaps a will Implement such a thing.

I really should consider this because most CAD programs include things like hatches and so forth.

It also depends on what I can Define in a dxf file using dxf version twelve or thirteen I forget which it is.

Color and fill/swatches are also used to convey information in CAD programs, not only for aesthetics. At the very least, swatches and line dashes/line thickness should be implemented (if you want to keep it 'classic')...

Hi Owen,
DXF knows about htaches.
not a very handy construct.
hatches and regions are nearly same defined.
You need a bunch of elements which are conneted at the end and if they are closed then you can have a hatch.
there are special cases if you want to have holes in a hatch (its possible)
Its all a bit tricky but not as the trick to bring it on the screen :)
Therefore you need a clever fill routine which can also deal with linetypes.
No real technical world drawing can live without htaching.

Happy eastern
Thomas
